A leading medical device manufacturer approached MICRO to develop a cost-effective, disposable surgical device to be used in minimally invasive surgeries. MICRO engineered and patented a revolutionary process to manufacture a “rolled” tube in a progressive die that replaced traditional drawn tubing.

MICRO’s innovative process achieved the following benefits:

• Component costs were reduced: Traditional drawn tubing requires costly secondary operations to create critical features — these are now done in-die.
• Production time was reduced: A finished tube can now be stamped in one second.
• Sub-assembly costs were cut by a factor of 4X.

Utilizing our patented "rolled" tube technology, we currently produce nearly 750,000 of these sub-assemblies annually in our ISO Class 8 cleanroom.
